Glorify God with Us at YPPC!

The Westminster Catechism begins with the teaching that the chief end of humankind is to glorify God and enjoy God forever. When we glorify God, we are like magnifying glasses that increases God’s visibility in the world so that the world will know God’s love. At YPPC, all ministry is done to glorify God. This begins on Sunday mornings when we offer ourselves to God in worship. Everyone is invited to be an active participant in worship each week.

Ways You Can Glorify God in Worship:

Choirs: Come and make a joyful noise to the Lord as a member of our chancel choir, handbell choir, or children’s choir.

  • Handbell Choir – The Handbell Choir rehearses on Thursday nights at 6:00 p.m. and plays in worship and for special services. If you can read music, we would love to have you come ring with us.
  • Chancel Choir – The Chancel Choir leads worship each Sunday. Rehearsals are on Thursday nights at 7:15 p.m. and 10:30 a.m. on Sunday mornings. Everyone is welcome to lift their voices and sing with us.
  • Children’s Choir – Throughout the year, our children learn special music during Sunday School and share it with the congregation during worship. They also lead a Christmas Pageant during Advent. All children are invited to participate by coming to Sunday School each week at 9:45 a.m.

Worship Leadership: Each week, members of the congregation lead the Confession and first scripture reading in worship as liturgists. In addition, members often play special music during worship services, commission flowers, serve as ushers, and prepare for worship as members of the Worship and Music Committee. If you would like to help lead worship, please contact the church office.

Worship with Us: Jesus said that where two or more are gathered in his name, he is with us. Everyone is invited to participate in worship each week. If you have questions about our worship services, be sure to check out our “what to expect” page, or contact the church office.
