From the Pastor

Dear Yeamans Park Presbyterian Church Family,

The month of December promises to be a time filled with the hope, peace, joy, and love of Jesus Christ. Over the past few months, our staff and committees have been busy making plans and preparations for the season of Advent that began on November 28. As Christmas celebrations in our culture have become more and more commercialized, holding space in our hearts and our calendars to intentionally observe the season of Advent is important for our faith. My goal as your pastor is to offer opportunities through the ministries of the church to help you keep Christ at the center of your Advent and Christmas celebrations. I am excited for the many ways we will do just that together this month!

This past Sunday, we had our first Advent Fellowship activity: Advent Wreath Making. If you were unable to attend and would like wreath supplies and a daily wreath-lighting liturgy for your home, please contact the church office. As we move through December, there will be many special opportunities for you to participate in worship, Sunday School, Advent fellowship activities, and outreach. I hope you will mark your calendars and join us for the wonderful ministries you will read about in this newsletter. Let us celebrate the Good News that Christ came over 2000 years ago as we look with hope for the day that Christ will come again!

In Christ,

Rev. Cameron Smith
