Whether you join us on Sunday mornings or throughout the week, we want you to feel at home at Yeamans Park Presbyterian Church!
What is worship like? Our worship services are both casual and traditional. The atmosphere of worship is relaxed with time for congregational participation. We sing the classic hymns of our faith with contemporary arrangements interspersed. Following a liturgical order of worship, each service includes time to gather, hear God’s Word read and proclaimed, and respond to God’s Word as we pray, sing, listen, and give ourselves to God in worship before being sent out into the world.
What will my children do during worship? You are welcome to include your children in worship. If you prefer, we also have a nursery available for those in first grade and below. There is a special time for children midway through the service. Following Children’s Time, those in first grade and under are invited to either stay with their parents or go to the nursery. Older children are asked to stay in worship with their parents. Children’s worship bags and bulletins are available to help them as they learn to worship with the community of faith.
What happens the rest of the week? There are many opportunities to glorify God, grow disciples, and meet human needs at Yeamans Park Presbyterian Church throughout the week. Check out this week’s weekly update, or reach out to us for more information.
What do Presbyterians believe? Most importantly, Presbyterians are Christians who believe in the sovereignty of the triune God and that Jesus Christ is Lord of all creation, Head of the Church, and Savior of our souls. Presbyterianism began as a part of the Reformed Tradition in the 16th Century under the leadership of John Calvin. Over the centuries, Presbyterians have continued to reform as we seek to follow Christ faithfully in our own time and place. There are many different Presbyterian denominations. Our congregation is a part of the Presbyterian Church (USA). To find out more about our denomination’s polity, ministry, and core beliefs, visit www.pcusa.org.
I still have questions. If you have any other questions about what to expect at YPPC, please reach out! We want your time with us to be a positive experience, and we are here to help you feel at home.
